Project description
Papirbredden 3 is the third and final stage in the Papirbredden knowledge park. The building is approx. 11,500 m² and will be completed in 2015. Papirbredden 3 continues the high ambitions of Papirbredden 2, but with further improvements such as eliminating mechanical cooling, increased aggregate content in concrete, a sedum roof and lower energy use.
Papirbredden 2 og 3 are built to passive house standard and achieve energy class A. Accommodation for bicycle parking is exceptionally good and there is a bicycle workshop and washing station.
Process Papirbredden Eiendom (developers) commissioned LPO Architects to develop the concept, sketch project, building program and functional specification. The project is a part of the project competition that was held in 2005, which LPO won with the project “Drammen United”.
Papirbredden follows the environmental strategy of Drammen city council and Entra. The project started in the spring of 2010. An environmental coordinator has followed the project to ensure that the environmental goals are met throughout the process.
FutureBuilt´s requirements were continuously followed up in the project and were taken into account in the contracting of the construction firm. Equivalent requirements were incorporated in the tender documentation for the technical contactors, to ensure that all parties supported the goals. IFC-models (BIM) were used in the project development. Operations personnel were pulled into the project management and in the preparation of the tender documents for the technical contractors. An early focus was put on As-built documentation in the project.
Economy and financing The project has received 3.4 million kroner in support from Enova.
