Powerhouse Pilaris is a building being planned according to the Powerhouse Paris Proof standards, which are based on the 1.5-degree target specified in the Paris Climate Accords. Energy efficiency, material resources, and circular economics are entirely essential in order to achieve the project’s CO2 targets. Powerhouse Pilar is a candidate project in FutureBuilt.

Project description
Skanska has signed a letter of intent with FutureBuilt for the office building project Powerhouse Pilar in Fredrik Selmers vei 5 in the Helsfyr area. The aim is to develop a circular powerhouse by renovating the existing building and adding an annex.
Preliminary calculations indicate that the building’s CO2 emissions may be cut in half compared with a typical building that follows the TEK17 standards. The building is designed to require less energy and to produce energy itself, and the reuse and re-purposing of materials represent another exciting aspect. Powerhouse Pilar is a pilot in Sirkbygg, a R&D project under the auspices of Skanska, in which FutureBuilt also participates. Sirkbygg aims to develop new solutions and products for dismantling buildings slated for demolition and re using their materials in other projects.
Powerhouse Pilar is a candidate project in FutureBuilt. This means that the project has not yet been formally designated a pilot project, but that the developer and FutureBuilt have signed a letter of intent to collaborate and in the long run develop Fredrik Selmers Vei 5 into a pilot project.
